Our garments are durable and made with naturally anti-bacterial fibers. Extra fine merino wool breathes very well and does not keep odors, unless synthetic tops. As a result, you do not need to wash our garments frequently.

When you do, appropriate care is critical to preserving the freshness, softness and size of our merino wool garments.

You can dry clean the garments. This will guarantee the longevity of the garment, but some chemicals used in the dry cleaning process are problematic; and not everyone has the time or budget to dry clean.

The best and most durable way is to hand cold wash at home, only when needed. If that turns out to be daunting, you can machine wash carefully on cold cycle with low spinning. Use eco-friendly detergents. Do not use fresheners. if using a delicate cycle, check that the default temp is set to cold.

DO NOT PUT IN DRYER, ever. Lay flat to dry.

If garment is creased, just lay it flat and it will regain its shape – merino wool has memory. Do not overfold.

IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THE NATURAL PRODUCTS CARE PROTOCOL, PLEASE DO NOT ORDER.

Luxury, extra fine merino wool very soft to the skin. Extra supple, very lightweight yet extremely warm.

Sourced from the finest ranches in the high Andes of South America, where merino sheep graze extensively. Current batches come from Argentina and Uruguay and can be traced down to the ranches that produce the raw material. Our supplier is working on establishing a blockchain protocol to automate traceability, which for now is done manually.

Currently there is no dyehouse in the US, or possibly in the Americas, that dyes with natural dyes at the yarn level. We therefore source our milled yarn from a highly specialized mill in Italy’s crafts heartland.

The downside from an environmental perspective is of course the emissions associated with the transport of material. We have made this compromise in order to offer products with vibrant colors. You can compare the trade-offs between garment benefits and environmental benefits in our Collections Scorecard.

IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH OUR SOURCING TRADEOFFS, PLEASE DO NOT ORDER.

Made with seamless 3D knitting technology. This means there is no seam per se. You may see something that looks like a seam, but it is actually “linking” where the needles need to change direction. The result is a more durable garment as there is no threads to come undone; and flatter transitions that are more comfortable to wear.

Please note that because we make garments one at a time to order, and because we use 100% natural materials as unprocessed as possible, each garment produced is unique. Not in big ways, but because our yarns are 100% natural, they do not provide the absolute symmetry and repeatability that we have come to expect from a synthetic garment. Our raw materials come from live animals and plants, and we strive to strike a balance between Tech (providing relative scalability) and Nature (minimizing processing).

As a result, we produce garments that contain an element of variability in the finish. We embrace those small imperfections as a gauge of the authenticity of our products. Those are inevitable, due to a combination of tying ends of strands of natural yarns together and using individual animals and plants for different batches.

Please note also that different batches of yarn may have every so slightly different colors, due again to the 100% natural fibers and dyes used. There are also small variations between colors, because the yarn reacts slightly differently to the various natural dyes compounds (bark vs flowers for instance). As a result, the sizing may be slightly different between for instance a black and a light pink garment.

IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH SMALL NATURAL VARIATIONS AND IMPERFECTIONS, PLEASE DO NOT ORDER.
